The Nobis / Stockholm, Sweden

A beautiful new hotel, the Miss Clara, has just opened this spring in Stockholm, and though I haven't had the pleasure to see it in person, I was lucky enough to stay at its sister property, the Nobis.  Beautiful, contemporary, elegant design seems to be in Sweden's blood, and the Nobis is no exception.  The building is steeped in rich history, first a private residence and then a bank - a robbery and hostage situation here in 1973 gave birth to the term "Stockholm Syndrome".  These days though, everyone who stays does so willingly, and with good reason.  The plush rooms and suites, the gorgeous bar (tip: order a strawberry basil smash), the breathtaking atrium, all showcase the hotel's unique features and are accentuated by a fresh aesthetic and design that has come to define the Nobis brand.
